Default 2000 Blazer 4WD transmission

Hi new here I'm looking at a 2000 Blazer to buy for my daughter. Its v6 automatic 4wd I drove it today everything seems to run out ok except for when I hammer down on it the transmission surge's like it doesn't want to go into passing gear other than that the transmission changes out fine and seems to go thru all gears any idea what might cause this I don't have much experience with Chevy Blazer I'm a Mustang fan myself but my daughter likes it and she's the one paying for it just trying to keep her from buying something that's going to cost arm and leg to fix

Welcome to the forum, from what you described I would look at a fuel issue, filter most likely. Possibly MAF sensor. When you describe surging are the rpm’s running way up as this is happening? Good luck
