Angry 2000 Blazer Electrical/Transmission Problems

I am someone that doesnt know much about cars, so I figured I would try this website out!

2000 Chevy Blazer

History of Symptoms:
2+ Years ago: Windows stopped rolling up/down
2+ Years ago: 4x4 broken (now just lights on/off)
2+ Years ago: Interior lights stuck on
1+ Years ago: Cranking but wouldnt start
6+ Months ago: Cranking but would start after 5/6 tries
This week: Slowed acceleration between 20-25 mph

Current Symptoms:
-4x4 Broken
-Cranking and starting after 5/6 tries
-Slowed acceleration between 20-25 mph

Quick Fixes:
-Removing the fuse to the cluster/ECM fixes the problem temporarily

What on earth could it be? Any suggestions?

the cranking but no fire until five or six tries sounds like a fuel issue maybe pressure is not good enough or maybe a fire problem plugs plug wires dis cap rotor button my four wheel drive has quit on me a couple times but its been a vac hose thats came off both times there is one that goes hooks into the driver side inside fender u should be able to see it running under there up toward the brake fluid resevior and i know there is one that hooks on the transfer to not really sure about any more and your 4wd actuater is lookated under your battery box they go bad sometimes

i would probably start by checking your fuel pressure wit a fuel pressure gauge should be between 60-65 not go below 55 for ten min wit key on the right side of the dis cap should be were u thread the fuel pressure gauge on it will have a black cap on it just unscrew that and screw the fuel regulator gauge on hope this helps

Hi, it could be any number of things really; a bad oxygen sensor, faulty spark plugs, etc. Does the truck backfire/sputter at all when you step on the gas? If so then this could be signs of a bad fuel pump. If you can't get into second gear then it very well may be the transmission (stripped sungear).

The 4x4 issue is most likely a separate problem all together, possibly a sticky vacuum actuator valve. When you push the 4x4 button does it blink and then return to 4x2 and can you hear a clicking noise? If so then it’s most likely the actuator valve.

The only way to know for sure is to have a mechanic look at it or see if you can get a free diagnostic scan some place to determine the problem. Good luck!
