Default 2000 Blazer Fuel Filter

Just recently bought my 2000 Blazer. I am planning on buying a new fuel filter, but haven't even tried looking for it yet so i figured i would just ask some people on here.

Also is this something fairly easy to change?

The filter is located in the frame on the drivers side kinda behind the drivers seat area, and its easy to change with the correct tools.......

You can pick up a new filter at any auto parts store.

Depening on where you live and how often its been changed you probably are gonna want to soak the nut with some good penetrating oil. I had to wrap a rag soaked in it for a few days before mine would come loose, also depending on the filter they can be a bear to slide back in the bracket, the fram I put on seemed like it was just a hair too large.

i would get a AC Delco filter and put that in. also put some white grease on the threads of the fittings so it will come apart easy in the future. on mine i also left out the plastic bracket that it slides into...

You're better off leaving the old one in than putting a Fram in there.

Thanks for the info. Is there anything that should be done to relieve the pressure before taking the filter off? I plan on changing mine.

Nevermind, I found this thread https://blazerforum.com/forum/showth...ng+fuel+filter

If you do the filter after the truck has been turned off for awhile, most of the pressure in the system will have subsided.. When i changed mine, I let no pressure out of the system first and havent had any problems yet and that was 2 years ago..

Not trying to resurrect an old post here but my understanding of fuel filter maintenance was every 6 months, even if I am wrong it is just peace of mind considering the cost and all.
