Default 2000 vortec v6 oil adapter

My problem is that I cannot find an oil adapter that allows me to mount the oil filter to the block--all I can find is the factory oil adapter with the oil cooling ports for the lines that run to the radiator. Does anyone know where I can get one with out the ports or have any suggestion on how to solve this problem? Can you block the ports with plugs and not ruin the engine. Thanks

I wrecked by 2000 Blazer 4x4 so I am installing the engine in a 74 Landcruiser and the radiator I have does not have oil cooling. So I'm stuck, either find a engine oil filter adapter, plug the holes in the one I have, or buy a new radiator and adapt it to fit the landcruiser.

GM carries the adapter you need, I don't know the part number offhand, though. Give your local dealer a call. If memory serves, it runs about $15 or so.

If GM does not have the adapter you want just take the lines to the rad off the remote filter and take them to a high pressure hose shop and have them connected together. So it would still go out and just loop back in right away. While you are there have them add high pressure hose to the ones that go to the motor and back too and you will never have to touch them again.

Thanks for the info--I going to check on the adapter and if I can't get it I'll retro the cooling lines
