2001 4dr 2x4 possible 5 speed swap
Just looking for some opinions and if seeing if anyone out there has done this. Been researching swapping an nv3500 into my blazer, the ol 4l60e isnt in the best health so a future transmission swap is inevetible. From what ive read it should be a doable swap but i still have some questions. I know the y pipe has to be modified and ive already removed my center console so i have a spot for the shifter. Plans would be to buy a junked s10/blazer and get the parts i need off it.
So heres what im still unsure of,
Does the pcm need to be reflashed in order to run or
Will it start and drive, just with the pcm having a panick attack?
I assume the clutch pedal/linkage from a 4cyl s10 is the same?
Any wiring required besides reverse lights and clutch switch?(assuming pcm is evantually flashed for M/T)
With the auto steering colulmn can the shifter be removed and the manual bezel put over it or does the whole column need to be changed out?
Drive shafts, does the nv3500 take the same yolk as the 4l60e, and anyone know if any stock shafts will fit?
Any other real hurdles with this swap i missed?
Sorry for the long post just want to figure out if this is going to be worth the hassle so i can start looking for a junked truck, and of course if i do it will do a really good write up on it. Thanks
