4.3 engine swap
hey eveyone, im new here and I have a 96 blazer 4x4. It had a bad rod bearing and hard engine knock. I sucessfully installed a 2002/03 4.3 x engine from an astro van into my 96. Ive been reading about this topic and it seemed unclear. If anyone has questions I will be happy to answer.

Try putting an '85 4.3L into a '93. Teh '85 was only offered in a fullsize, and it was the only year with a two piece rear main seal. Meaning the oil pan from any other year wont fit and the factory didnt make an oil pan for the tow piece rear main seal in a S10. I had to custome fabricate my oil pan.
Another diffult year is the '95. Its a unique OBD1.5, plus the intake to head bolt angles changed. Then the next break is '98 when GM changed the tranny bellhousing/ engine oil pan configuration.
Congrats on the engine swap. I saw at least 2 other threads looking for help today.
