Default 4.3L ‘06 Silverado in a ‘00 Blazer, can it be done?

Just blew the 4.3L motor in my 4wd ‘00 Blazer and found a 4.3L with 50,000 miles on it that came out of a 2wd ‘06 Silverado. From what I’ve found, the ‘06 4.3 has a different cam, O2 sensors, no egr valve and the fuel injection is different. I’ve heard it will bolt up but I can’t find where someone has actually done a similar swap. Would I have to change out the PCM or would it be a fairly simple plug and play? Has anyone done a similar swap or have any idea if this possible or even a good idea?
