4.3l Trans destroyed, opinions on what next
i have a 1990 s10 4x4 blazer and my trans is shott. 4.3l auto.
i may want to put a 350 in the blazer in the future and i was wondering what all transmissions will bolt right up.
if im going for a 350 later it would be better to go for a turbo 350 or 400 than another 700r4 right?
will a turbo 350 or 400 bolt up to the 4.3 i have now?
thanks guys

All of those transmissions have a common bolt pattern on the bell housing so they will all work. The trick might be getting a torque converter that would work with the 4.3L & the 350, but I have never looked into it.
If it were me, I would build a stout 700R4 and stick with it. They can be built to be just as reliable as the TH350 and a TH400 would be overkill behind a run of the mill small block, IMO. Besides, the TH400 takes more power to operate.

alright thanks for your input.
i found a 700r4 with less than 100,000 miles out of the same gen blazer and he wants 200$ for it. so ill prolly talk him down a bit and put that on, then ill get it rebuilt when i have the money too.

Sounds like a plan. That isn't too bad of a price.
Just make sure that it is from the same drivetrain configuration (2wd or 4wd) as your current truck.
