Default 4 spd conversion in 84 k10

ive got an 84 k10 blazer with a 700r4 and i was thinking of buying my freinds 78 k5 blazer and using his 4 speed trans/ t-case/ and drive shafts. what do i need to know when converting it?. its a linkage clutch and runs good. his body is just gone. and mine, no rust, no bondo, fresh paint so i want to use my body and frame and 355. im a dodge tech and have to tools to do it i just dont know how much stuff will need to be changed. hopefully someone has had experience in doing something similar thx for lookin

Hopefully the transmission tunnel is in decent shape where you would be able to cut it out of the other truck and use it in yours. Besides that, you've got it covered. Linkage, pedals, flywheel, transmission, transfercase and driveshafts should get it done.

do i need to cut out the firewall for the clutch linkage also do i need his column orcan i just take the shifter of my column? also i think that the t-case comes up somewhere different. is it just easier to cut his trans tunnel out and weld it into mine?

Yeah, the column wouldn't be necessary to swap out. You could just pull the pin on the shift lever.

On the firewall, you may have to cut or it may just be uncovering an existing hole. You'll really need to have them both opened up to tell.

I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow. I have an '85 that's been coverted but I'm using a hydraulic clutch. It's all '77 3/4 ton running gear.

Sorry, the pics I took today are lousy. Here's a sample anyway.
