How long have the plugs been in there? New plugs are new plugs. Where plugs differ is in how long they last.

Also, is the check engine light on? If it is, have the codes read and let us know what the specific codes are (Pxxxx).

plugs have been in for 6 months but i hate them but just wondering if it would make it sluggish and if the ticking noise could be causing it just geeting frustrated of the sound it makes and the idle and the mpg and there are no codes and the 02 sensor bank 1 has just been replaced so has the cat and fuel filter

swap the new plugs out for the old plugs. If it changes how it runs then that was your problem.

heres evn a better one, Who put the plugs in? Is the #3 plug tight in the head??? I was in a store yesterday and over heard someone talking about the same noise, it was their spark plug arching on the outside of the head... at night in the dark look thru the wheel well and look for sparks.......

Ticking noise could be from a plug not seated or loose.
