4x4 help.
Hello everyone,
I am having an issue with my 91 s10 blazer's 4x4 capability. I recently took it to a shop that said that they fixed it but it seems backwards to me. Anytime the truck is in 2 wheel drive or 4x4 N , the light on the console shows the front wheels active, the actuator is depressed and shows good vacuum. Whenever the truck is in 4 high or 4 low the lights for the front wheels go off and the actuator is at rest. I have included some pics so that you can see what I am talking about. I am thinking that there is a problem on the shifter in the cab but before I started trying to get that worked out, I wanted to make sure with you good people because you have helped me so much in the past. It is also completely possible that I am stupid and this is the way that it is supposed to work. But everything I have seen online and common sense says that the cable should only be pulled when 4 wheel drive is engaged. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all and have a great Easter.

there is a vacuum switch on the transfer case. It has 3 lines on it. Possibly these got switched up. IDK if its possible to have it backwards like that but it's all i can think of. The linkage wont be the cause. At least it shouldn't be. Put it in 2wd and see if it will spin the back wheels on a dirt road or something. Becasue the way its shown here your 4x4 should not work no matter that you have the selector in becasue the axle is disengaged when it should be engaged.
That was the problem. Thank you very much for your help. I went ahead and changed out the transfer case oil while I was down there. The truck goes in and out of 4x4 with no issues now. Thanks again for the help and have a great night.
