Default 4x4 issues?

Hey guys, I have a 1994 Chevy full size 2 door Blazer with the 5.7 350.

It's been sitting for a while, and not driven much over the last 10 years. Motor only has 63k original miles and original tranny.

It has the manual shifting 4x4, but hasn't been shifted into 4x4 in at least 10 if not more years. I'm nervous about trying it out, anything I should do before I try it? Any fluids in front diff or anything like that?

Also, how can I check to see if I have any tranny seal leaks?

I would check all the fluid levels to make sure they are full and then drive it to see where you are at. If everything works as it should I would change all the fluids out for new. I would take it to the wash and clean everything off (motor and underneath) and drive it. Expect to see leaks. Seals and gaskets dry out over time and this Blazer is 19 years old so you will be replacing some guaranteed.

is it alright to pressure wash (from a distance) everything under the hood?

that a good point, I was thinking just change all the fluids then try it. if it doesn't work I would've wasted oil. im going to top off the transfer case and front diff, then try it out
