Default 4x4 Test

Hello All - I justbought a 2000 Blazer. Everything seems to work OK but I would like to be able to confirm/test that the hi and lo 4x4 is working.Any recomendations on how I might go about doing this? Thanks for any advice.

Take it out onto a gravel road so the tires can spin freely and engage the push-button. You'll be able to feel if it's working in the steering.

Also you could go in a parking lot and do tight turns in 2wd, then try in 4wheel hi (do them slowly and you should be able to hear tires slipping against the pavement. and if you put it in 4 low you will notice a major difference in how much pedal it takes to get it going and how much more torque it feels like that you have. Hope this helps. Otherwise gravel would be good to see which tires are slipping. Or you could jack up all 4 corners and doing this very carefully put it in drive in 2wd and the rear wheels will spin, put it in 4 hi and both front and rear should spin, then do the test mentioned above for 4low on the ground.
