88 fuel injection jet; constant flow causing high RPMs at idle
This is my first post on this forum and I'm having some troubles with an old 88 s10 tahoe.
My blazer has some problems with one of the fuel injection jets. One of them is stuck on all the way once it has warmed up and is causing the RPMs to go up to ~4000 on idle. I originally suspected that maybe a valve mechanism may have been stuck so I took off the throttle body and cleaned it with some carb/throttle body cleaner. Right now I'm letting it sit for a while to let the cleaner do its thing. My second guess would be that there's a problem with one of the sensors or the computer. I noticed that the plug for the broken jet was melted and broken so I suspected that it was probably electrical.
Does anyone have experience with this kind of problem? What have you done to fix it? I'm only trying to get it fixed to go off roading but my budget is very tight so its not like I can just go out and buy new parts. I'd rather get it going so I can just bypass the computer but I'm not sure if I'll have the time for it.
