Follow the upper hose off of the radiator. It will be on the driver's side of the radiator. Where it goes into the engine, the thermostat will be located under the fitting that the upper radiator hose connects to.

If you can get to the drain in the passenger side radiator tank, that is the preferred method of draining the radiator. But the other method is to remove the upper fan shroud, and remove the lower radiator hose from the water pump inlet. Do it from the top! Trust me! You'll be bathed in coolant if you do it from underneith! Just be aware that this will make a rather large mess regardless of how big of a drain pan you have under the truck!
