95 Blazer 2dr
so im looking at picking this up for cheap and the body is in great condition, i plan on finishing my dream project since my 92 s-10 i had got rear ended a week after paint was done and before i could start on the 350 swap. my question is: being a 95 2dr blazer i have been reading up and read in some areas that this had only 1 4.3 in this truck year and i have read in other area that it could have a z or w code 4.3 in it. now i know i should have checked the vin when i seen it and talked to the guy but i was in a little rush at the time so i didnt even test drive it or look under the hood, i just did a walk around and talked to the guy a bit and told him i was interested, they guy is holding the truck for me since he knows me pretty well, can anyone direct me to which motor it would have? i heard the 95 were kinda a one off for stuff. plus is there anything in particular for problem wise i should be looking for? i plan to drive this as a dd for the first year while i buy and build what i need for the swap. im not looking to build it for big power but for decent dd fun and reliability, i was also planning on setting it up for decent fuel econ. so im mostly gonna leave it stock internals and stick to bolt ons. and idea what would be the ideal 350 to go with? it will be fuel injected.
what type of engine management systems are you talking about? im not to worried about electronic modifications, my job is working in the 12v automotive field. im just trying to figure out if i have to replace all the electrical harness from donor or am i able to intergrate and modify the existing harness. i've done a fair amount a research a few years back when i was going to so this to the last truck but its been too long to recall everything.
I would try to use as much from the donor vehicle as you can. The benefit that you have with a '95 is there isn't a whole lot of other stuff that you have to worry about 'playing nice' with the new stuff. In the newer trucks, the body control module and other items can become a pain.
