Hello every one. I have a 95 blazer and i am replacing the transmission in it. I am having trouble unbolting the top bolts and was wondering if any one had a suggestion or easy way to do it. I tried to get it from the bottom and the top. there is a wire harness and some lines in the way from the bottom. The tranny is a 4l60 2wd. Thanks

 

The easiest way is from the bottom with ~4' of extensions and swivel sockets. You have to drop the back of the transmission down and then move the wires out of the way.

 

No fun at all but doable. I had to remove a tranny from a blazer that had been punched hard in the front. Almost ended up cutting an access hole through the top (considering the truck was junk anyway) but ended up coupling a few long 1/4" extensions together along with a 14mm swivel socket (1/4" drive) and was able to just barely fit through what little space was left. That sucked!! Good Luck.
