I just bought a 95 Jimmy 4x4 with the 4L60E (i believe this is what it is) 4 speed A/T with 100,000 miles for $500. Runs beautifully. Now for the ONLY issue.
If i put it in overdrive, it will shift fine from 1-2, but once it shifts from 2-3, it will free rev like in nuetral until 4000-4500 rpm, then shifts back to 2nd. It will do the same thing if in drive, but just free rev when it hits 3rd.
I have already change the trans fluid and filter and made sure the fluid was full. I have done a little digging online and come up with a couple possible causes. TPS and shift solenoid.
I figured i would ask here since someone else has probably had this problem. Help me get my Jimmy running good!!!

I have a 2001 blazer and mine did that also.....it ended up being a gear in the transmision that needed replaced. The sunshell????
I bought a beefed up after market gear and dropped the tranny tore it apart and replaced the gear....it took me two days...
oh...i drove it in 2d gear about 35 mph to the tranny shop and they told me what it was and sold me that parts....

from what i have experienced, seen and had happen on my own 95. your tranny is on the way out. Third gear is the first to go usually, then reverse. Time for a rebuild or a reman
