Default 95 trans swap

So i just bought a 95 blazer with burnt up 3-4 clutches thinking id just get a junk yard unit and slap it in..well i didnt realize the 95 was a one off year and now im looking a 950+ for a rebuild. Is there anything i could do to swap in a newer year? Swap plugs on harness? Also i have a 4 bolt dust cover and im only finding 95's with a 6 bolt dust cover. What is the difference? Thanks for any help

The 4 bolt dust cover is for 2wd vehicle. The 6 bolt cover is for 4wd. Is your blazer 2wd? If not it has been changed at some point. The steps required to make a newer unit work is very costly and time consuming unless you are quite familiar with transmissions. Good luck.

Well this one if forsure 4x4 and has 4 bolts. Will a 6 bolt fit right in and be fine then?

There is no dimension difference at all in transmissions You can use your 4 bolt cover on a 6 bolt case just have to drill cover for larger diameter bolts.

You have a 6 bolt transmission. Be sure to flush the cooler and cooler lines very good before installing other transmission.
