Wink 96 S10 Blazer transmission filter change TIPS WANTED!!

Hi, I recently picked up this blazer and am receiving a DTC P0753. I am preparing to replace both (A,B) shift solenoids. While the transmission pan is off i figured I might as well replace the filter as well.

While reading up on these procedures, I have heard that a lot of people were having trouble removing the pan from the vehicle(A lot of talk about having to remove cross members and "Y" pipes??). I was just hoping that someone could clarify for me what the exact problems were and how to get around them. I have looked all around the pan and it seems to be clear, but would like to hear from someone that has actually done it. I plan on starting this little project in a few days and would just like to know any tips to making it easier.

if its close to the same as my 91' model, all you need to do is disconnect the trans mount and jack up the transmission tail a little.

I did the exact same thing on my '96 4-door and didn't have to remove anything else. Its a little tight to get to some of the bolts, but its all possible without removing the crossmember or the exhaust. I just had standard hand tools, although I did get to use my friend's hoist which made things tons easier. I think the 2-doors may be different but I'm not sure on that one.
