Default 96 Transmission Trouble

Transmission question. Just joined Blazer Forum today. Just rebuilt 4L60E in a 1996 Blazer. Have 1,2& R but not "D" or "OD". All new clutches, TC, shift selonoids & PSM. Any thoughts?

This sounds like it could be a problem with the 2-3 shift solenoid. Possibly a bad solenoid, a bad seal, or sediment in the valve.

3+4 are in a clutch pack together. Did you remamber to put the seal in on the bottom of that crown looking piece(3/4 clutch apply)? Other than that being missing or damaged during installation... very possible because I just got done with mine and was pissed by the time I got the input assembly back together.

Aside from a seal being bad/damaged you can only have a problem with something in the valvebody. I'd at least start by dropping pan and checking the new solonoids with a 12V power supply or a battery and test leads.

Just wondering if your anti lock light is on , my transmission is doing this to , But sometimes it will shift into drive and over drive . But the problem started right after the anti lock brake light came on . These are all the codes from the anti lock light flashing 25 , 35 , 36 , 37 , 73 , 86 . I just had the transmission totally rebuilt , and wheel bearings were shot . I have done a lot of ready on this and some say wheel speed sensors have nothing to do with the transmission shifting and some say it does . Well mine does I guess , at about 40 mph is when it starts the speedometer will bounce a little then go to zero .

The wheel speed sensors do not have anything to do with the speedometer or transmission. The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) however, does play a critical role in both.

Yup you are right , i put a new vehicle speed sensor in it today and my transmission works like brand new .It would not shift hardly at all and above 40 it would shift into 2nd gear and stay there or the speedometer would go to zero then it might shift sometimes .

Could a frayed wire at the VSS connector or a bad VSS cause the tranny to go into limp mode?

I think I found my answer here: https://blazerforum.com/forum/showth...ght=vss&page=2

Thanks guys, I'll give that a shot for my tranny troubles; no first/fourth, 2nd/third manual shift only, starts out in third.
