Default 97 blazer fuel pump

can anyone help me. i have a 97 blazer and someone said the fuel pump was bad. when you turn the key on without engine running it is around 60-62psi. when you start the blazer it runs 52-54psi. if you rev it up the pressure jumps to 60psi. but when you turn the blazer off the pressure holds at 50psi. can anyone give me any ideas? thanks

is 60-62 the pressure when the fuel pump is running? The fuel pressure shouldn't be any lower than 56psi.

the blazer spits and sputters at idle. and sometimes wont start at all. when it dont want to start the fuel pressure wont go above 40psi. theres no leaks. didnt know if the fuel pump was going out. just had tune up,new filter. less than a month ago.

If you only get 40psi at times, then you either have a leak (could be internal to the engine or inside the tank), a bad pump, or a problem with the power supply to the pump. Those are the choices.
