HI all, I have a 97 s10 blazer 4x4 with a bad 4l60e trans, I have a good used one from a 98 4x4 (truck) w/33k miles. any way when i seperate the transfer case, will I need to remove tthe adaptor bolts to the transfer case
only or will i need to remove the adaptor to trans bolts and the adaptor to tranfer case bolts before the transfer case will come out?
any other tips for removing or installing this trans?
will there be a problem usint a 98 trans and TC?
also the block box on the shift selector (park and reverse) I cracked the 4 pin conector ( not the park and reverse switch) is there a way to check this? is thie for the selector to lock? if this box check ok i am going to use epoxy to seal up the crack.
thanks
Don

to get the connectors out of the gear selector switch, apply heat from a heat gun or hair drier to warm up the glue. that part is really expensive so be careful! Here is a link to a DIY guide for removal and installation: https://blazerforum.com/m_29933/tm.htm
I had to do mine just a couple of monthsago. just a note, when removing the trans make sure you support the motor and take off the distributor cap and rotor just in case the motor moves. then to remove the upper bunch of bolts on the bellhousing, tip the motor and transmission down just enough to be able to get these bolts out.
