Default 97 blazer won't turn over

Hello, My blazer is a/t with 6 cyl. It was starting every time up till a few days ago. the temp outside is about 10 degrees. when I turn the key all the gauges come on but the engine does nothing.Today I turned the key and started it by touching the two post on the starter. All the fuses in the fuse box seem to be good. Is there an in line fuse some where? Any advice would be appreciated.

It is quite possible that the ignition switch is failing or has failed. If you cycle the ignition a few times, does it allow the truck to start?

There should be a purple wire that goes to your starter (the small one on the solenoid). This wire will not have power if your neutral safety switch is bad either.

Thanks for the fast responses. I'm not sure what cycle the ignition means but when I turn it off it will only start at the solenoid. Is there a way to see if it is the neutral safety switch? Again thank you

stupid question: have you check your terminals on your battery to see if there loose?
i know you got power to your gauges but i've seen it where its just barely on there and the radio or gauges still work.

there is a yellow wire that comes out of the ignition swith that sends power to the NSS and the purple wire i told you about is the one coming out of the NSS. So, you already know that the wire coming from the NSS is not getting power, So i would check the Yellow wire that comes off of the ignition switch first, if it is getting power then you know that its your NSS. i have an ignition switch in the garage i'll take a picture and show you the wire i'm talking about(Yellow). I don't believe there is a DTC for the NSS.

Edit: Check out the Anotomy of The Ignition switch in swartlkk's sig it has all the details in there.

well, I heard clicking from the relay so I switched for another one but it didn't help. I am pretty novice us this site so I am not sure how to look at the pics of the yellow wire. oh the relay that I changed felt pretty warm so im not sure if that means anything. Also I was told that there is two nss. Again thanks for the awsome responses.

if your talking about the yellow wire for the passlock, that is going to be your resistance wire.
