Default 99 blazer, blown head gasket

Hi, My 99 blazer over heated and I had a LOT of work done to fix it, a few days later the head gasket blew, I noticed they used green antifreeze and not the one recommended for my rig, Did this cause or contribute to the head gasket being blown?

Simply, No on the antifreeze. Bad head gaskets cause overheating. Probably what was truly wrong in the first place if head gasket went bad several days since other repairs.
