Default ABS light dead cluster non shifting tranny

I have a multi tiered problem with my 96 s10 4wd..Recently we put a new torque converter in and ever since we've had a problem with the transmission, the cluster not working and the abs light coming on.

What happens is this.. whenever I start the truck everything works fine..after a few minutes of driving the abs light will come on and then the gauge cluster will go dead, after which the transmission will stop shifting and i have to manually put it in second gear. After being shut off and restarted..everything returns to normal for a few minutes then the whole process starts again..can anyone direct me as to where i should start looking for this problem.

Sounds like a failing ignition switch. When this happens next time, try sharply smacking the under side of the steering column near the key. See if things change.
