Default AC pulley squeak

I have an 02 blazer and my ac clutch pulley is squeaking and I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to change just the pulley or if I have to change the entire compressor. Also I am pretty sure I cant do it myself but just wanted to make sure since I think it would release the gas.

i am not 100% on this, but i think that there is a seal behind the pulley. if you remove the pulley, then the refrigerant will vent to atmosphere. in other words, if you pull the pulley off then you will lose all the gas. you can have the system sucked down and then you can do any work on it you wish once you break the vacuum in the pipes. just make sure that where ever you go will give you credit on it. stuffs not free, but you already have some.

If it only squeaks when the AC is OFF this is probably what you need:
More Information for ACDELCO 1520038

The bearing is prolly failing is my guess.
