Default Acceleration

I have a 99 Blazer 4dr 4wd ls with 186,000 miles and i have noticed that when i accelerate the rpms almost never go past 2000. it feels like while i am driving it should go past 2000 rpms but if feels like it just cant. Is this normal on all blazers or is this something i should look into getting fixed. I like a car to be able to get up and go when i need it to and my truck does not!
Any help would be great thanks!!

yeah my check engine light is on im not sure what the codes are. So your saying that the way it is acting is not normal?
i recently replaced my o2 sensor, catalytic converter, i sometimes have issues starting it but most of the time it does okay. Ever since i got the car in april the acceleration has not felt normal... i know it is older with a lot of miles but i just want to know if it needs fixing and if it is a simple fix.

It should go something along these lines, and yes, you need to get rid of those codes - your Blazer is running in limp mode!

yeah i dont even think my truck would do that unless i floored it. and there are so many codes that come up when i take it some where all ive ever heard them tell me is a small leak in my gas tank but i think that is just a faulty gas cap. I never heard them say anything that would effect my acceleration.

Go get the codes again, write them down then post them on here and we will analyze them for you. chances are the problem lies in the code. the bad acceleration could be lots of things. Fuel pump, MAF sensor, EGR, O2 sensor, vacuum leak, etc... but if you tell us the codes that will help

okay so i had my codes tested and the only one that came up was Po442, evap emission small leak. Would this effect my acceleration or even my starting, because my truck barely starts and if it does it takes a lot of tries to get it started. It turns over fine it just wont start. The spark plug and battery are good. so any ideas?

I just went through that. Even when I would floor it the car wouldn't go above 3000rpm. Felt like I was pulling a train, it just wouldn't go. Took it to a trans shop and they said my trans was bad so I replaced it. Said the same thing about limp mode. Didn't do a danm thing. Then went to exhaust shop and they put a camera in both my cats and they were like 80% clogged. I replaced the y pipe and both cats and it fixed the problem immediately

if you have a evap leak, depending on where you can have a vacuum leak which can alter the starting etc.
