Default Automatic to 5-speed Swap?

Hey guys,

Well, I think it's safe to say that my auto trans in my 96 Jimmy has blown or is about to. I only have 2nd and 3rd gear working as of right now, before then going into 1st from a stop there was a loud cranking noise or something, but either way, I hate auto tranny's. So... my plan is to take the auto trans out, and replace it with a 5-speed rebuilt trans with a new clutch.

But I have a couple of questions before I start:

The Jimmy I have is 4x4, is it possible to just throw out the transfer case and the front axles and etc without any problem?

Also, what other parts will I need to buy other than:
-5-speed trans
-New clutch + pressure plate, etc
-Cables or hydraulic mechanism to disable the clutch
-Clutch pedal

Anything else that I may be missing? Any help is appreciated.

a computer from a truck with a manual trans will also be needed and if you take out the 4x4 stuff you will need a different drive shaft

Hrmmmmm....seems like it would be more work than I thought. I guess I'll just stick with the auto.
