Need help ASAP! I just got finished replacing the control arm on a 96 blazer. I get it out on the freeway and i started to get a engine knock. Didnt identify it as a knock right away because i assumed it was something i messed up on suspension. As proble didnt get any better i pulled off after drivibg about ten miles and the noticed the extremely low oil pressure. Oil level is fine and coolant looks clean. Is there something i could have done to cause this while doing my suspension work. This seems like an awfully big coincidence. Any help would be so greaty apreciated!

 

what was the oil pressure while driving and at idle?

 

It depends sometimes 20 sometimes 40. But it always drops with time too.

 

there is nothing wrong with that pressure, mine runs at startup 70-75 and as it gets hotter it goes down to 20-25 at idle and 50 at driving speed

 

time to buy an engine!!!! or just do the ls1 swap

 

Mine did the same thing. maybe 5lbs of pressure at idle. It only goes up when i accelerate. Just started it up one day and the rod was knocking. oil level normal.
