I used to have an '85 S10, and it had NONE of that. Therefore, yours was changed before you got it. Though, I doubt you'll believe me that I had one.

Anyway, enough of that. steamer, what've you got so far?

There is no need to get worked up over this...

I had an '85 S10 2.8L as well. The carb is called a feedback carburetor, different from a regular carburetor, but nowhere near fuel injection.

That truck does have a very, VERY simple ECM (using the term loosely) which really doesn't do anything but monitor the very few sensors on the engine. It can help in diagnosis for a limited number of problems. The presence of a check engine light does not automatically mean that it has a computer of any kind. Common referred to as 'idiot lights', these simple lights go back a very long way into automotive history long before the use of computers were ever instituted.

But that is besides the point... Yes, steamer, what have you found?

lol i dont know man, maybe mine is a different model or something? or maybe its because mine was 4x4 and yours wasnt? i have noooooooo clue but there are possibilities!
