Default Blazer 4x4 operation

Good Morning,

I'm a brand new member to this forum. I'm looking for a step by step sequence of how the 4x4 system works on my 1996 Blazer, ie step by step when I push 4hi.

This vehicle was given to my wife and I mid-year 2014 and we've never used the 4x4. Now that we've gotten snow and the roads are icy it would be nice if we could get it working. I'm very tech oriented (electronics tech for more than 28 years and trained as an auto tech in college).

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks

Try to get a grip onto an owners manual.

Maybe online. As for the 2nd gen I'm not too sure but the write up at the end of the thread below may be useful as it contains a lot of generic information.
