There is a how to floating around the net...cant remember the site. But it is easy to do. I was able to leave the alum end in place while I swapped out the rubber portions. I used a drummel to carefully cut the oem pressed fittings off. Then slide on the tranny hose and clamps. Piece of cake.

I've been reading on doing this to my Blazer. I just replaced the lines a little over a year ago, you guessed it, leaking again. Some place I read said to use the NAPA oil cooler line and not the tranny line. I see you used tranny line. What's the deal or the difference? Also, my line is 13/32" and not 1/2". 3/8" line seems to make a better, tighter fit. If "mandatory" I'll use the NAPA oil cooler hose vs tranny line. What's your thoughts on this?

Ok, never heard of 'Napa' oil cooler lines......however, I beleive what u are referring to is ........removing the rubber portion of the lines & taking them to say 'Napa' and having them make u a set of hydraulic lines to replace to crappy rubber lines that u have!!!if u do a search on here there is plenty of info.con this topic....just cut the crimps on each end of hose and remove.....

I have a spare set (leakers) to remove the old crimps and hoses from. The NAPA oil lines I was referring to is the bulk hose they sell, 1/2" ID (ATP14864) bulk hose. It's remote oil filter hose. People have been saying to use this instead of tranny line. I was wondering WHY and What would/will it hurt to use tranny line instead?

first off you likely wont easily find 1/2 transmission grade hose

And from what I understand its more a crimp clamp issue than hose grade issue

I just wanted to be sure that 3/8" hose would have enough oil supply and that motor oil wouldn't cause the tranny hose to break down and cause failure. I just didn't want to starve the engine and cause its failure.
