yes thats right...i got...had a 2000 lt 4x4, i was doin some mudding and it blew. i wont try to begin to explain how it happened because its depressing, but nonetheless i come to the best place to start asking the questions. What is going to be the best bet for my situation, do i junk it. or do i go ahead and get a blown engine kit, or get a new engine, what parts are the absolute neccesity to get my daily driver back in action...any help would be great!! yeah i got pictures. i will post some of the worst looking ones for you guys. thanks for any suggestions!!!

if you are looking of the cheapest best solution then a good used engine would suffice, however if you are looking for the BEST solution then I recommend a new engine

Well that depends on exactly what happened to the engine. You are looking at a couple grand for a new engine. Junk yard engine at my yard runs me about 200 with 30 day warranty.

If you have tools, time you could do it yourself and just fix it.

Yeah, really depends on what you did and what kind of $$$ and time you have to devote to it. I know it hurts but give us a hint. Blown head? threw a rod? broke a piston? Total sieze?

As stated, it really depends on how much damage you have done to your engine and what you expect for the replacement (performance, durability, etc).

A remanufactured engine is $$$, but should be very reliable.

If your engine is salvageable, you can rebuild it cheaper than putting in a reman and have it be just as reliable.

A junkyard motor will be good provided it is relatively low miles, but without the history on the vehicle, it may not be as reliable as a good rebuilt or reman engine.

i am almost sure i blew a rod. whenever it's started and i give it some gas, is makes a pretty bad tick tick tick sound. i had it revved at 5500 rpm's for about a half a minute, i was stuck in a decieving mud hole, if you want pictures someone will have to tell me how to get them so you guys/girls can see ha ha... but seriously i appreciate the input, thats awesome!!

A tick is not a huge problem. Ticking noises are typically valve train issues. It is the knocking noises that usually spell bottom end damage.
