I tried with Car Gauge Pro but I kept running into errors. I think the specific one from the transmission and a few others was, "negative or no response from ecu".

Absolutely if I can get this to at least run the tests on the transmission. That'd be great progress.

DO NOT select the Transmission module. As I said before, select GM/Powertrain. There are no tests that are run by the scanner. It reads the codes stored in the computer.

And that'll run the transmission test?

Geez - I just said there is no transmission test. It will read any stored transmission codes that are stored in the PCM.

Select GM/Powertrain You should get to a point where it displays an address (10 on mine). Select that address and it should connect and display connected at the top of the main screen. You have to get to that point first.

Yeah when I was given the option to select an address (10 for me as well) I had like 7 or 8 to choose from, all the same number.

After that you can go to Diagnostics and read codes (either pending codes or hard codes). Sometimes PCM has to see a code pending through multiple key cycles or failures before setting a hard code.
