CAI - Too much air flow
I've recently installed a CAI on my 2000 ZR2 with 130k along with a new MAS. Since then, I've notice some throttling issues. After running diagnostics, I learned that the was actually TO MUCH air coming in. Any feed back or tips would greatly be appreciated.
What kind of throttling issues have you experienced?
There seems to be some "bogging" when getting on the throttle along with a loss of power. Also, I've developed a shifting problem that I suspect is connected. It almost feels like the trans is slipping. I get through 1 and 2 but will not go to three. When I manually put it into 3, there's no power. I've had it scanned with an OBD reader and I get:
CO265 - (ABS module is bad, and already knew it)
PO101 - This is the code for the MAS out of range
PO303 - Random misfire
PO404 - EGR valve issue
PO420 - O2 sensor - I've recently hollowed out the CAT
The MAS is brand new and the problem only developed after the CAT delete. I'm not sure which way to go at this point. New plugs and wires are on the way along with the ABS board, and I'm going to look at the EGR valve tomorrow.

And P0303 is cylinder #3 misfire. For me, it was as simple as a plug wire popped off. These are tough engines.
See how it feels after you clean that EGR...
Absolutely! I'll keep this thread posted. I'm new to the forum and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I build custom driveline components for a living so I'm all about drivetrain, axles, and what not. My only concern that's really bugging me is the shifting issue. I'm hoping that it's just underpowered and not reaching the RPM needed to shift. In not, I'm building up the courage to rebuild my 4L60e myself. THAT'S GOING TO BE A TRIP!!!!
What indication was there in your diagnostic data that you had too much airflow? I find that hard to believe, since the airflow is metered by the throttle plate, not the air filter. Unless you're actually forcing air into the intake at a rate that exceeds what the fuel system can keep up with, there's really no such thing as "too much air".
