CMFI (4.3l Spider) Fuel Lines
Moderator, please move to appropriate area, if needed. I couldn't figure out which would be best to reach those most in need of the following info. Thanks.
-----
Anyone having to replace their fuel regulator or fuel injector in the 4.3l Vin-W ("Spider") engine, GM wants a HEFTY $106 (pre-tax) pocket-lining for the "Fuel Line Nut Kit".
Advance Auto Parts (and many others I'm sure) sells the Dorman Brand "CMFI Fuel Return Lines" kit (OEM Part # 55163) under the "HELP!" packaging for $55. It includes BOTH the Return AND Supply lines, as well as the bracket and screw to mount it.
Take my word for it, your's are probably dry-rotted! I tried the junkyard, and even on a 50K mile truck, I saw that the lines were rotted (hard, thin-walled, and stiff) and the regulator was going (or already gone, though the engine was marked as "good").
Just wanted to share, as this seems to be a regular issue with these trucks, and when trying to disconnect mine from the Spider, one simply snapped in two.
Happy motoring!

Thanks for the info, I'm sure some people will be happy about saving a couple bucks.
