Default Coolant leak (pics attached)

I have a coolant leak on a 2000 Blazer 4.3 vortec 4x4. It appears the leak coming from this line or plug in the attached pictures, anyone have any idea what line this is? All help is greatly appreciated.

I can't tell for sure but that looks like the EGR pipe. If it is it will go from the lower intake to the exhaust manifold left side (driver side). Don't think that there should be anti-freeze here. The upper radiator hose is pretty much right above this.

Is the coolant lying around this or on top of this fitting? Check your upper radiator hose in this area. If you don’t find a problem with your radiator hose then it could be your lower intake gasket. Be sure to check your oil for coolant (oil level higher than it should be, oil doesn’t look like oil). Search this forum for intake gasket problems. Coolant in the oil is NOT good. Here is a good link about replacing the gaskets with pictures.

Thanks for the help, no coolant in oil so thats a good sign, I live in Ohio and have been getting slammed by snow. I used bar's stop leak and it stopped the leak, I know that stuff is terrible for your car but I plan on getting something new here shortly.

Yeah not really fair to the next owner. You should do a pressure test on the system and get it fixed properly because that stuff is going to ruin the engine and you may not make it to shortly. Flush that junk out of the cooling system.

First image tells the tale. Behind the compressor, the lower intake manifold gasket is leaking. The Bars leak might stop the leak for a short time, but it will do more damage especially to the radiator and heater core, flush that stuff out ASAP.

The handy manlyness web site has a few inaccuracies and incorrect procedures that can do more harm than good. Avoid it. There are some threads in the How to section here on the forum that are much better. Let us know before you tackle the job, we can walk you through the do's and don'ts.
