Dang, well thanks for your time! I appreciate you putting off plans for a stranger like me! Please call me when you can. I have to get this beast on the road or I'm going to be jobless. Please and thank you!

If you post your questions on this thread I’ll be able to check my phone a couple of times this afternoon and I’ll keep trying to get you moving but I won’t be able to talk on the phone for the rest of the day

I'm confused when your talking about checking resistance between the 2 wires. Blkwht whtblk I just link a probe to each one and tell you what the results are?

In summary, first make sure your meter readings are legitimate so we’re not chasing ghosts. With your meter leads not connected to anything on the 1X scale turn that little black plastic screw at the bottom of the meter so that the needle sits right on top of the infinity mark on the far left. Then touch the meter leads together and you should go all the way to the right close to zero. Then retest and if you still read around 2K like before then there is in fact a wiring fault. Before thinking about running a new wire you should follow the wiring harness between those two connectors and look for damage or corrosion because this won’t be the only wire affected now or at some point in the future . You might have to take a razor blade and carefully slit the electrical tape wrap along the axis of the wires so you can peel them apart and see what’s going on in there. You can re-tape that later or the process for putting a new wire in if that’s what you needed is to cut that white and black wire at least an inch or more away from each connector so you have a wire stub still going into the connector that you can work with. Then get a wire of roughly the same gauge, thicker is better not thinner and solder it then remeasure and see if the problem is fixed. Sorry if this post is a train wreck but I’m voice texting

The best way to modify or repair wiring is to solder the two wires and then seal heat shrink shrink wrapping around the new clean solder joint. If that’s not possible then you can use wire cramps and pull on them after you’re done to make sure the wires are tight but then you’re gonna need to waterproof the connection by either using heat shrink butt connectors or liquid electrical tape all wrapped up crimp

You have a partial and crappy short to ground in that white and black wire. The question is how is it finding its way to ground. Is the harness rubbing on the frame or the engine somewhere or is it shorted between itself and another wire in the harness? The most likely wire would be that ground wire that’s on the same connector and it’s gonna travel right next to the white and black wire in the harness. If you’re checking resistance between two wires unplug the harness at both ends And just take your 2 m probes and place one on each wire. If they’re not supposed to be connected like these then your meter should stay on infinity on the left. If the meter moves to the right when you connect one probe to each of those two wires with the connectors removed Then there’s a partial short between those two wires. I say partial because a proper short or complete short would make the meter go all the way to the right towards zero. This is likely some type of frayed wire or green/white corrosion powder somewhere

In light of your time constraint in my schedule today for now it probably doesn’t really matter why it shorted or what it shorted to but if you have verified that that white and black wire has a partial short to ground and you’re sure of that then cutting it 1 to 2 inches from each connector and splicing in a new wire is probably the next move. It sounds like it’s important to try to get to work tomorrow until maybe we should take a few short cuts and just keep moving

I want to reiterate to examine net connector at the ACM and because this corrupted white and black signal wire runs right next to the black and white ground wire so make sure it’s not the connector that buggered up before we start cutting wires
