Default Crankshaft position sensor leaking oil?

I'm fighting an oil leak in my 2001 Blazer with 140k on it. Is it possible for the CPS to leak oil? It is completely covered in oil. The front cover seal and balancer look dry, but the CPS is covered in fresh and old caked on oil. Anybody ever had these leak before? Or am I looking at tearing the timing cover off because the leak is actually coming from there? It's leaving a pretty good spot on the garage floor every night! Trying to make this vehicle last a few more years, just put brand new tires on it last week. Thanks for any and all help!

Good to know. I've checked all the oil pan bolts, they are snug. Oil cooler lines were replaced about 10,000 miles ago. Leak is getting worse...

its more than likely a front main seal. even though the balancer and everything looks good it doesnt mean thats not what it is. it could be leaking when the seal gets cold and thats why everything under the hood looks clean. just a thought and my .02.
