Default Difference in 1 quart of fluid level

Ok. Thought my 1996 was overfull. Removed one quart. Was going to add back in a half.

What I notice, is:

- Faster shifts
- Less smooth shift at highway speed
- a "delay" in power and acceleration under full throttle.

Does it sound low to you? Should I add in a quarter quart at a time until it runs better?
