1989 4.3 tbi. I've been having some acceleration issues after a stop for a week or so and I've finally traced it to the egr. I took it off and cleaned it and the engine real good. I used a air hose and checked the vacuum,it's good there. So I installed it back. The problem is that after a complete stop it hesitates some,but usually only on hot days. I understand that at idle the egr closes and doesn't open again until certain temp is met. I believe that my problem is there,that after a stop it sticks and causes the hesitation. It idles fine and has never cut off on me. My question is since the plunger worked when I checked it with a air hose would the solenoid be the culprit or the egr itself?
