encoder removal on a np233. how?

Default encoder removal on a np233. how?

Friend has a np233 with a bad encoder motor. I have not seen it yet,what needs to be done to remove it? driveshaft in the way?

You will most likely have to remove the driveshaft to change the encoder motor.

ugh mkay. Im guessing a few bolts and it'll pop off?

It isn't bad...

Generically speaking due to the lack of vehicle information... Four bolts (two per strap) up at the front axle (make sure to mark the orientation of the driveshaft to the yoke on the front axle), then it'll take a prybar or a hammer & block of wood to get the driveshaft disengaged from the transfer case front output (there's a retaining ring inside that makes it somewhat difficult to get disengaged). Then there will be 3 bolts holding the encoder onto the transfer case.
