hey i was wondering if anyone would be able to tell the causes of an engine knock? because my blazer has been sitting in my garage for about 5 or 6 years and it does start but the engine knocks when its running and when i rev the engine the knocking gets louder and some people have told me it could be my rod bearing and other people have told me it could be the 6 year old gas and oil that's in it. so if anyone knows anything about this problem please give me your input. thank you

 

If it is a hard knock and not a tap or ping, then you likely have bottom end damage.

 

it sounds like someone is tapping their foot on a tile floor

 

Why don't you change the oil & filter & put in fresh gas & see what it does.

 

yah i was guna do that i already changed the oil and filter but im going to get some super+ gas and put that and some octane booster in the tank and see what that does cuz it will clean out my fuel system so ill try that and see what happens
