Default engine knock possible big problems

98 blazer 4wd . a few days ago the oil cooler line fell off the radiator pumping out all of the oil. Without knowing I drove it a bout a half mile until it just died. I saw the clip holding the line on was missing. Fixed that, put oil in and drove it home. Started and drove it a few times and there was a slight knock for the first few hundred feet then it went away. Today I took it on the highway with no noise till i got off and it came back fairly loud. Got back on the highway and it went away again until I got off the highway. Drove it home making the noise. Just started it again and the knocking is fairly quiet.
Sound like its coming from the bottom of the motor. Any ideas? oil pump maybe?

Damn the bad news. Better check oil pressure with a screw in gauge.

The pressure on the dash gauge 40-50 cold and 20 when warm. This morning while driving it. Seems to run fine except for the noise

You still could have scored a bearing oil pressure or not. I'm afraid the damage is done.

going to look at a 2000 ZR2 tomorrow 140,000 just serviced fully loaded. Sounded like an old man on the phone which makes me think it wasn't beat on. He wants 2995.00 but I`m gonna try and get him down to hopefully 2500. Looks clean in the pictures

If he wants to sell it he'll come down. Hold strong with your offer, if he says no, walk out. If he wants to deal, he come after you.
