Engine "snap"
Hello everyone,
I am new to working on cars and need a little guidance on where to start looking for a mechanical issue. I have 72 Blazer with a 5.7L 350 engine that broke down. I was driving for about a mile when I felt a "snap" (similar to a chain under tension breaking) in the truck. I couldn't provide power to the truck before it shut off on me. The engine turns over but does not start up. Oil was dripping steadily from the oil pan afterwards. I haven't had an opportunity to look at it further to provide more details. Any suggestions on where to start looking?
Thanks
