Engine Swap 94 to 95 (HELP ASAP)
I have a 1994 Jimmy with a vortec 4.3L v6 CPI..
I know someone with a 95 blazer frame needs motor selling it super cheap and my tranny just started to leak from front seal so need some info here asap.
If it has tranny still on 95 would my 94 motor fit and be a quick plug it in an go or would it take alot of work or money to do so or am i better off just fixing the tranny leak.
Tranny is leaking from front seal, linkage, solenoid and pan.
aamco wants $750 bucks so its not really an option at this time.
Any info would be help
95 frame will run me 450 tops so if it has tranny and it would work id love to swap and save some $.

Quite a few things changed in the transmission that make them incompatible.
As far as the engine compatibility, you would need to compare the sensors, etc because 95 could have one of three ECU setups; full OBD1, OBD1.5 (not all OBD1 and not all OBD2, but bits of both), or full OBD2.
If the engine is missing, this could be a bit difficult of a swap. The distributor, coil, and ICM are areas that will likely be different. I can't remember the other sensors that may have changed off the top of my head.

Ok sounds good I might just sell the Jimmy off its only 2 door but has typhoon body kit on it so makes it pretty rare in a way which is cool i love it to death but am so disappointed in the leak. I want a 4dr blazer now to go 4x4ing with my brother thx for the info

some sensors were added in the 94 to 95 switch. I beleve 95 was the first year to add mass air flow sensors to the intake.

the motor on the 94 does not have the crank postion sensorthe 95 does the distrubters are different the trans is the same 4l60 you just have to swap the sensors from one to the other
