Default Engine and transmission question

I have a 1974 Blazer and I am looking at buying a 383 to drop into it. My question is if the stock tranny and drivetrain could handle the increase in HP and torque. I am not exactly sure what tranny is in it but it is a four speed manual with granny low.. If anyone could help that would be awesome...

Thanks
Dave

A TH350 in good health shouldn't have a problem with the new found power. I would make sure that the gearing is proper for the tires on the truck though. Of course if the transmission is worn out already, all bets are off. The TH350 is a good transmission though so I'd give it a go and see how it works out.
