Default Fuel Problem

alright, 3 weeks ago we were driving my 1993 chevy blazer s10 4.3 vortec cpi, was running fine no stutters or anything. then it just shut off, now wont start. we have replced the fuel pump, uel filter, cap, rotor, ignition coil, map sensor, oil pressure switch, knock sensor, even tried another ECM and the sider injectors.

it will start up with starting fluid so i have spark, but then dies when it burns it all up. does anyone know why it doesnt want to start

Have you checked the fuel pressure along the line to see if its up to pressure. Like before filter, after filter, at plenum. Did you just start throwing parts at it or did a mechanic tell you to put these on.

As suggested, you need to verify that you have the proper fuel pressure at the fuel pressure test port at the back of the intake. It is located just below the seam between the upper and lower intake just to the left of the brake booster. It is not fun to get to, but you need to verify that you have the proper pressure there (50-55psi).

yes we have tested the pressure, it is around were it is, we work on the car ourselves, me and my uncles, and when we hook up the computer to it, it says that the engine and everything is fine.

It only takes 3 things to start an engine - fuel, air, and spark. You have spark as indicated by the starting fluid test, I assume air is getting to the engine, so that leaves only what?

'Around' isn't really good enough. The fuel has to be at least at the minumum pressure required for starting. Might want to double-check it.

But it isn't, otherwise the motor would run. Something is not working right.

The only thing hte ecm doesn't monitor is fuel pressure. It assumes you have proper pressure, everything else will trip a code.

It takes more fuel pressure to start than it takes to run. Which fuel injection system do you have?
