Fuel Pump Check Valve Yes/No? 2003 Blazer
I've searched a bunch of posts on the forums and things still seem ambiguous.
I have a 2003 Blazer, 4-door, 4.3L.
Fuel pump is dead so I want to replace it. Keep seeing descriptions of fuel pumps with and without check valves, but they all assume I already know what I have.
Rock Auto sample wording...
4 door; Original design without Check Valve ONLY
or...
4 door; Updated design with Check Valve (Can replace modules w/ or w/o check valve)
NAPA sample wording...
(a Delphi) Strainer Is Inside The Module Assembly; Original design. Must only be used to replace fuel pump modules built without check valve. If you are unsure if your module has a check valve, then use FG0287; w/o Check Valve
I'd love to order the part so it can ship while I'm disassembling everything, but how do I know which I need?
EDIT: I'm in Canada. Just called local dealer "for price" and hoping to garner some details on the check valve. Very helpful guy! (seriously) They can only order it from the US for $879 CDN, but he gave me the part # so I can track down other sources.
Part # he gave me is 19331247. However, this looks like it's for a 2-door. Looks like I really need 19331269 (or equivalent) as that's for a 4-door. I guess you can't always trust the experts?
2-door link 4-door link
Based on the above information, and this part from Rock Auto, it looks like the "without check valve" is correct.
However, if anyone wants to give me additional confirmation, correction, contradiction or information, I'd still appreciate it.
